Textual analysis - Front cover

Magazine - The Source
As soon as you look at this magazine you can tell what genre of music it is, by adding pictures of the artists on the front cover with their names the images ae also quite bold against the black background. There are 3 main colours with are used in this magazine which are black, white and red, these colours go well with the type of music genre of the magazine. The images aren’t randomly scattered, they are organised in a pattern with a logo in the middle, this attracts the reader to the logo and shows that the logo links with the pictures that are used. The cover line is very simple not giving too much away about what is included in the magazine but only giving a list of artists that are included in the magazine to give a simple effect. The price which is £3.95 is hidden by the barcode so it doesn't attract the reader this is because the price is too expensive and they keep the focus off the price. The master head is very effective because it is bright and appealing compared to the rest of the magazine which is mainly black with a red title and white cover lines. Also in the title there is a microphone added in the O of source which shows it is a music magazine there are also microphones in the logo which shows that they link together. There is also a link to there website at the bottom corner of the page which gives you more access to The Source and where you can get more information about the magazine.
